The Revolutionary

Its crazy how corrupted the Philippines has become. Recently, a death toll of 57 has been raised in what the people are calling an election massacre. The suspects are from a group known as Ampatuan who is being led by one of the former provincial governors. This same Group even has ties with the Philippines current president, Gloria Arroyo by helping her win the election in 2004. My uncle Brigadier General Danilo Lim, attempted a rebellion against the corrupt Arroyo demanding her to be removed and a reformation of the government after walking out of a trial with Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on November 29th, 2007. After seizing the Manila Peninsula Hotel, Lim and Trillanes along with soldiers from the Armed forces of the Philippines surrendered to the Philippine military personnel. I just wanted to make this post just to pay respect for my uncle who is currently incarcerated by the corrupt government he once sought to protect. It is most important to stand by what you believe in above anything else. I honor and respect you Tito Danny...

The Gonz!

So here it is, yesterday I get a call in the midst of my making cannabutter.*Ring* *RING* Me:"Chello?" Ninja: "Marlon! you should come out to Richmond, Kromer is here...he rode here on his Harley!" Me: "What? no shit? Richmond huh?! Fucking down as a clown!" Ninja: "I called Kev, but I think he's sleepin, you should hit him up and Toan too cuz Krome's boards in his trunk... and mob down here and we'll shred!"
Me: "Word! will do, aight then I'll hit em up then hit you up. Peace!" Ninja: "Peace!" Shortly thereafter i meet up with Kev, pick up the Loccs and we were off. Got to Richmond about 2:45 pm and Ninja and Steve came a bit later and it was oooooooooooooon duuuuuuuuuude. Super awesome radical fun sesh; hammers were dropped, doobs were toasted, Henny, Seagram's 7 Whiskey, Patron Gold, and Hamm's were drank, and Taco Bell was munched, and at one point tried to freeze our fucking hands off! Then as we're winding down from the sesh we decide to peep some shred vids on the macbook. We watch a couple Shuriken parts, some Cory Kennedy and then the new 4Star Clothing Europe Tour Video. And while watching this amazing film of legendary shredders, I was just captivated by the abilities of one particular individual, The Gonz, a nickname that reverberates through the pulse of the skateboarding universe. Mark Gonzales, simply put, is one of the raddest human being ever to set foot on a skateboard.
The man exudes style and bodaciousness! He mills about on his stuntwood just TERRORIZING spots. He get's it straight and rides Krooked. He's a zip zinging maniac who enjoys giving vexed zoot suiters 4star gear, draining his lizard, kickflipping his mountain bike and just being an all original skateboard artist. Dude can shred whatever, if he gets board with the regular old skate he starts shredding a 9 inch long board with 215 Indy's in the rain, boardsliding whole handicap rails(he's just plain ridiculous) when there's supposed to be a whole team demo going on. Do yourself a favor and pop in Blind Video Days or any of the Krooked videos and just basque in the wild, spontaneous spirit that is Mark Gonzales. May he shred forever, and forever shred!

Let the trash talk begin!

Don't even have a date set up and the guys already at it... Mayweather is at a high level of boxing but an even higher level of arrogance.

I wonder what was going through Cotto's head after his wife left the arena...
Way to stand by your man!

Richmond's Nicholl Skate Plaza!

So it was decided one night around a pack of brews that it'd be a grand idea to check out this Richmond Nicholl Skate Plaza I've been hearing so much about. The next morning comes and the start on the day is kinda slow; some bongloads to wake up, some bacon, sausages and a cheese burger, Flip's Extremely Sorry video to get hyped, and games of S.K.A.T.E. while bbq-ing hot dogs for the Revo/Brotherhood Sale, so we were not even thinking about the sun going down earlier. At first the group was growing, 3 car loads, including myself, Toan, Niko, Derek, Robert(FUPA),-we were also convincing Kev and Philbo to come along, but Toan ended up crackin his board, getting a new one and changing his mind up about the sesh to shred with our USSR buddies. Well Niko and I didn't have to think twice, we hopped our asses out of the car and persuaded Derek to mish the motherfucker. Derek was treating the freeway like it's his little bitch, doing 85, zigging whenever he zagged in and out of traffic.
We had a few missed turns and a stop at a sketchy gas station, but soon we were there at our destination just killing it. Just a few bros loving the many obstacles this massive place had to offer(ledges as far as the eye can see, mannies, funboxes, burms, mini, pyramid rail, hump bump, banks, whatever you want to shred). The atmosphere was legit: nice sunny afternoon, ghetto children everywhere having fun, tall pine trees providing many shady spots to just chill out and munch some Cheesy Nachos with JalapeƱos for 2 bucks I got down the block from these Mexican kids out front of their house getting their midday hustle on (these kids were super ill and hooked it up with mad cheese). A few makes, a couple missed tricks, new friends, some rad skate flicks, and empty water bottles later we left and headed to Casper's Hot Dogs for some Chili Dogs and a Safety Meeting and then it was home from there. Can't wait to go back with a good group of brodiggities to get our schralp on.

The KickDrums!

Very rarely am I struck by complete originality within our modern day music. I am happy to say that today I have stumbled upon an anomaly of music in todays digital world of imitation and fabrication. "The Kickdrums" pretty much just blew my mind and I feel compelled to share them with everybody who takes their 3 minutes out of their day to read our posts. I'm pretty much a hip hop fanatic but I also pride myself on the fact that I do not listen to hip hop exclusively. "The Kickdrums" have taken inspiration from music of the likes of Dj Premier and styles of Radiohead and created a hip hop/alternative hybrid. Im not exactly sure how I will be able convey this type of music to you but it's somewhat a kin to Citizen Cope, Kenna, and Cake. Just take the time to listen and if you don't enjoy it, then feel free to click the X button at the top of your window as quick as possible.

The Human Camera

I had watched a documentary on this Autistic artist savant, Stephen Wilshire a while back called "The Human Camera" and was just mesmerized by this person's ability to sketch something so detailed from memory. He is from across the pond and is most well-known for his panorama's of London and most recently brought it to the states to take on the Big Apple. I saw a clip of when he 1st started and found this clip of him pretty much finishing up the grand masterpiece that it is. Stephen Wiltshire truly is an inspiration. Lemme break it down, dude takes a helicopter around the city once and can draw it out on a wide scale with pin point detail and accuracy(FUCKING RIDICULOUS IF YOU ASK ME). He was diagnosed with Autism at an early age and he has been drawing from the start, sketching everything from the waterways of Venice, or the many metropolises of Europe and the US. I have always had a deep interest in Autism ever since i had to record and watch a doc called "Refigerator Moms" which was a big eye opener; they are really a fascinating bunch, so when i came across Stephen i was simply blown away.

That's no Pizza, that's a Pie!

Deep dish Pizza's should bow in the presence of an Old fashion chicago style pizza. Which brings me to the reason to post this about a little place in Petaluma called, Old Chicago Pizza! Super dope pizza and a cool atmosphere too. Downtown Petaluma has a bunch of history with the buildings around the area and Old Chicago Pizza is no exception. Apparently the building the restaurants at use to be a whore house. If your ever down for pizza that will fill you up with one slice, Be like Spike and Do the Right Thing... Go to Old Chicago Pizza.

I'm a Gay Fish!

Party People! Last night was a Halloween Jamboree for the books. Truely epic in every way; the Clam was packed like a can a sardines, girls groping my bum as they pass by while i'm sucking terribly HARD at pong. I'm stoked for all the motherfucks that got into the Holiday Spirit and dressed up. All in all every sucka motherfucker was shmaded to say the least."I Just wanted to say Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time!!!!!!!"
